David Isaac has composed much for several media in tonal and atonal genres.
His music ranges from solo violin and piano pieces to settings for full orchestra
(2222-4331-perc.-strings).
David Isaac is one of America’s new, bright, emerging composers. Born and
raised in Tucson Arizona, Isaac has been writing music since he was fifteen. After
studying with pianist Ann Neff, he went on to Thomas Aquinas College, where he
studied harmonic and melodic music theory under professors Molly Gustin and Richard
Ferrier. While at the college, David Isaac was awarded distinction for his thesis on
music, “On the Harmonic Unity of Debussy’s Prélude à l’Après-midi d’un faune.” Isaac
graduated from Thomas Aquinas College in 2005.
His solo works include many solos for piano and violin. Isaac has written
seventeen Preludes for Piano, and Fantasies, waltzes, and tangos. Improvising at the
piano, Isaac has created thousands of original piano works. His improvisations range
from classical, baroque, romantic, twentieth century, blues, rock, and jazz genres.
Isaac has also improvised using the styles of folk music from around the world,
including Irish, Spanish, African, Indian, and Oriental idioms.
